American boyband star Rich Cronin sings of his health struggles and "endless pain" in the last track he recorded before losing his battle with leukaemia last week (08Sep10).
The former LFO member died last Wednesday after suffering a stroke following a five-year struggle with cancer of the blood.
Now fans are able to listen to the last song he worked on before his death, in which Cronin opens up about his declining career and laments his "messed up blood".
In the track, titled It Only Gets Better, he sings, "I messed up, due to much self-pity/ Became the biggest lush in the whole damn city/ I was obsessed with this chase for wealth/ Till the doctor said, 'Rich, it's about your health/ Your blood's messed up, it don't look good...' I can't believe I'm feeling all these things I feel/ I need an out from this endless pain."

Rich Cronin, singer with the band LFO, died yesterday after a battle with leukaemia, he was 35-years-old. Cronin and his band had a number of hits in the late 1990's, particularly 'Summer Girls' which reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Billboard 100 Single Sales chart. The track went on to become platinum in the US, with sales of over 1 million. After the band broke up in 2002, Cronin initially became a cast member on the VH1 reality show 'Man Band'. The series also starred CHRIS KIRKPATRICK of 'N Sync', JEFF TIMMONS of '98 Degrees', and BRYAN ABRAMS of the band 'Color Me Badd', and followed the group as they pitched their newly recorded music to major labels.
In 2008, Cronin released his first solo album, entitled, 'Billion Dollar Sound', and later made a live appearance on the 'Howard Stern Show'. After briefly forming a rap outfit named 'LOOSE CANNONS', Cronin reformed LFO and the band performed a reunion tour in July 2009, however, in September of the same year the band once again split up.
In March 2005, Cronin was admitted to hospital after complaining of headaches - he was soon diagnosed with leukaemia and began a course of chemotherapy. During the summer of 2010, his condition dramatically worsened and Cronin died in the Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital on Tuesday September 8th after suffering a stroke.
Former LFO singer Rich Cronin has been hospitalised in Massachusetts with leukaemia.
The 29-year-old pop hunk was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukaemia last month (MAR05) and is currently undergoing tests, so doctors can determine the exact cause of the disease.
Cronin went through his first round of chemotherapy last week (ends08APR05) and is now awaiting news as to whether or not he will make it into remission.
