Reverend & The Makers are back already with their fifth studio album 'Mirrors'; and it's so good, even hard-to-please Noel Gallagher has some positive words to say about it. The musical project also incorporates other medias, including a DVD and book release this Autumn.

Reverend & The Makers 2015 promoReverend & The Makers to launch their creative project 'Mirrors'

'Mirrors' is a forthcoming concept album which the Sheffield indie five-piece recorded partly at the local 2 Fly Studios, and also in Jamaica's Geejam Studios. It has been produced by the band's former guitarist Dave Sanderson alongside Alan Smyth (Pulp, Arctic Monkeys) with mixing from Youth. The epic first track entitled 'Black Widow' will be available immediately with all album pre-orders. A psychedelic number featuring exotic drums, scuzzy guitars and drowned out vocals, it's the perfect hazy summer anthem to bring the sun into the Fall.

'So I'm listening to 'Mirrors' for the first time and I'm about 15 minutes in when it dawns on me that this is like something that sounds like nothing I've heard since the great concept albums of the 60s', says Reverend and The Makers fan Noel Gallagher. 'It's at that point that I may have s**t in my smoking jacket! (In fact I think I did actually s**t in my Fez!). S**t title though, eh?'

For those who really want to immerse themselves in 'Mirrors', you can also get your hands on a book of poetry and all the Reverend & The Makers lyrics ever written by frontman Jon McClure with illustrations from The Specials bassist Horace Panter. The title for the book will further unimpress Gallagher though: 'The Lyrics And Poetry Of Jon Mcclure With Illustrations By Horace Panter'.

'Ed (guitarist and fellow songwriter) and I became resolute to make a record that we loved', Mcclure explains. 'Why not indulge the overwhelming urge to not play games anymore and set about making some art we are actually proud of rather than the release tour festivals repeat cycle we'd been on since forever. And so we took the files we'd been diligently recording off to Jamaica and spruced them up a bit whilst making a film. The result is the best thing we've ever done in my opinion. The reaction when I play it to people is like nothing I've seen before, except maybe the first album.'

If that wasn't exciting enough, a film version of 'Mirrors' directed by Roger Sargent and shot in Jamaica will also be available on DVD. You can catch Reverend & The Makers on tour across the UK in November, with tickets set to go on sale from August 7th 2015.

'Mirrors' is set to be released in the UK on October 9th 2015 through Cooking Vinyl.
