Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon didn't have to look far for inspiration for her next role as JUNE CARTER CASH, because she already played the country singer aged 10 in her school play.

The SWEET HOME ALABAMA star insists she has spent her whole life preparing for this role as she grew up in Southern America and spent her childhood idolising country stars like Carter and Dolly Parton.

She says, "I grew up in Nashville, which is home to country music. I always wanted to be a country singer. I remember being in the playground singing Nine to Five and telling everybody I was going to be the next Dolly Parton! Then I actually played June Carter in a fourth grade play."

Witherspoon plays Carter Cash opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash in Walk the Line, which hits US cinemas in November (05).
