Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon is set to star in the remake of director Otto Preminger's classic thriller BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING. The 1965 film surrounds the events that occur after a woman reports that her daughter, Bunny Lake, has gone missing. When police investigate and find no evidence that she ever existed, they begin to question the woman's sanity. The original film starred Laurence Olivier and CAROL LYNLEY. Director Joe Carnahan, who recently completed the ensemble drama SMOKIN' ACES, hopes to helm the film before he directs George Clooney in WHITE JAZZ. Witherspoon is currently starring in another thriller, RENDITION, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Meryl Streep.
