Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon is set to tackle one of the worst moments in British Columbia's history by making a new movie about the 1997 murder of high school student Reena Virk. The actress has bought the rights to Under The Bridge, Rebecca Godfrey's book about the murder, and is developing a film through her Type A Films production company. The story follows researcher Godfrey as she returns to her hometown, where the murder of Virk, an Asian-American, took place. Two of Virk's fellow students were convicted of murder in 2005. It is not known if Witherspoon will appear in the film, but Godfrey herself is considering taking a role in the project.
