Reese Witherspoon was haunted by JUNE CARTER CASH's ghost weeks after wrapping new movie Walk the Line.

The LEGALLY BLONDE star insists she couldn't shake the spirit of the late country legend she played in the Johnny Cash biopic, who latched onto her and played on her emotions when she was coming to terms with motherhood a second time.

Witherspoon says, "I wanted to run screaming from it (the film) because it was so emotional, and I felt such a deep connection to her.

"For like a month afterwards I really felt like she was with me, and then one day she left... It was hard for me to function in my real life.

"Plus, I'd just had a baby, so I was a little vulnerable and emotional."
