Rapper pals Redman and Method Man were so high on drugs while making their comedy HOW HIGH, bosses warned them they risked ruining the whole film if they didn't curb their habit.

The 2001 movie featured the pair as two students who gain access to America's prestigious HARVARD UNIVERSITY after smoking a "supernatural" substance, but their real-life smoking slowed down a lot of things on the film's set.

Method Man, real name CLIFFORD SMITH, says, "At first we was real high, but I was blowing scenes. They were like, 'You gotta really want this and there ain't nobody's name on it but yours and Redman's, so if you want to look stupid on film, you keep doing what you're doing.'

"It got to a point where I was like, 'I'm not smoking during work. When they say wrap, then I'll smoke.'"
