The Australian actress really laid into the Kardashians and the exposure they enjoy in a new radio interview.
Rebel Wilson is most certainly not a fan of the Kardashians. The Pitch Perfect star took aim at the first family of American television in a new interview, saying that their fame and exposure is “not really based on talent”.
“I got asked to present with Kendall and Kylie [Jenner] at the recent MTV VMAs and I said, 'No.' I said I'd do it myself,” the comic actress revealed. Apparently, if it had happened, the bit would have involved Rebel dressing up as Kendall and Kylie’s elder half-sister Kim Kardashian. Thank God that didn’t happen, with Wilson ultimately presenting the award for Best Hip Hop Video alone wearing a police stripper costume.

So what specifically doesn’t Wilson like about them? “There's something that… not that I hate any of them individually, but there's something that what they stand for is totally against what I stand for,” she told Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O.
“Like they seem a bit superficial, and their careers are not really based on talent. And I know they're super popular. I'm all about personality and working hard to get to where I am.”

The Kardashians and those around them have come in for criticism in the wake of the sad tale of Lamar Odom, Khloe’s ex who was found passed out and unresponsive at a legal brothel in Nevada last month, but it wasn’t this issue that prompted Wilson’s comments. Rather, it was the infamous sex tape of 2007 that irked her.
“I mean, how Kim Kardashian got famous from the sex tape and I just went to acting school and worked really hard,” Wilson vented. But it was Kim in particular that came in for the biggest panning.
“Fame is a tricky one. If you’re Amy Winehouse and famous for writing great songs, that’s great, but it blows my mind that so many people engage with someone like Kim Kardashian. She’s got nothing to say, no opinions on anything… I’d hate teenagers to think that’s the way to be happy because it’s not – it’s fake.”
