Hollywood movie mogul Ray Stark sexually abused Barbra Streisand at the start of her acting career, the superstar's producer ex-boyfriend Jon Peters alleges in a new book.
Peters, who produced films like Superman Returns and Batman, describes how he "wanted to kill" Stark when he learned Streisand and his ex-wife, actress Lesley Ann Warren, were molested during casting sessions.
He claims Stark - who died in 2004 - took advantage of Streisand as she prepared for her breakthrough performance in 1968's Funny Girl and 1973 film The Way We Were.
He writes: "Stark, an ogre of male chauvinistic casting-couch sexual entitlement, had molested both Lesley Ann and Barbra when they were auditioning for him, and neither had ever really gotten over it."
Spokespersons for Streisand and Warren did not return requests for comment as WENN went to press.
Peters' memoir was bought by Harper-Collins Publishers in April (09) for $700,000 (£462,350), reports the New York Post.
