EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND star Ray Romano got into a sporty mood when he appeared on Tony Danza's chat show yesterday (20SEP04), by taking part in a mini-car race.

Romano, whose 11-year-old twin sons go to school with Danza's daughter, was challenged by the former TAXI star to step out of the studio and into the streets of New York City to take part in the Sitcom 500 race.

During the race, which was put on to determine which section of the studio audience would be awarded Everybody Loves Raymond DVDs, Danza, who was playing for the right side, and Romano, competing for the left, had to steer around shots of each of their sitcom co-stars - DANNY DeVITO, Katherine Helmond, Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle.

Romano walked away victorious, after crashing into Danza's car, prompting the host to give the whole audience DVDs.
