Australian 4-piece Rapids are set to release their debut EP 'Holland Air' through Ratbag Music records (who have also signed their friends New Navy) and will launch it in their home town of Sydney in August 2nd 2012.
They have released a video online for one of the 6 tracks, 'Cut Fast'. A grim but creative black and white clip nearly 4 minutes long showing a couple (played by Ryan Corr and Jessica Tovey) having dinner and talking before the male flies into an incandescent rage, seizing a knife and chasing his girlfriend around the house and up the street before collapsing onto a road, dropping the knife and sparking up a cigarette. It's as exquisitely thrilling as the track itself which is a chaotic indie tune with its piercing guitar riffs and heavy drum beats made all the more gripping by the energetic and emotive vocals of Jamie Timony.
Produced by Luke Judson who did Cloud Control's 'Bliss Release' album, 'Holland Air' is the beginning of big things for the quartet (made of Timony, drummer Angus McClaren, guitarist Will Shepherd and bassist Remy Hii). They are currently on tour in Australia following the EP release on iTunes at the end of May.
