Jury selection in the murder trial of THE Ramones manager LINDA STEIN will begin on Monday (11Jan10).
The punk rock pioneer and celebrity real estate broker was found beaten to death in her New York apartment in October 2007.
Her personal assistant Natavia Lowery was arrested and charged with the 62 year old's murder after police noted she "made statements implicating herself".
Lowery, who is African American, admitted in a signed statement that she had hit her boss with an exercise pole after Stein blew marijuana smoke in her face and made racist comments towards her.
However, she later pleaded not guilty and denied all knowledge of Stein's death before blaming a masked man for the murder.
Lowery, 28, is now set to stand trial and the jury selection process is due to kick off in a New York court on Monday.
If convicted, Lowery faces 25 years to life behind bars.
