Rage Against The Machine and singer/songwriter Conor Oberst are teaming up to protest Arizona's controversial new immigration laws at a concert in Los Angeles next week (23Jul10).
Both acts are part of the The Sound Strike coalition of artists who have agreed to boycott the state until a new bill, SB 1070, is amended.
The legislation allow police officials in Arizona to challenge anybody they suspect of being an illegal immigrant to prove their status officially. Failure to do so will result in arrest.
The protest concert at the Hollywood Palladium will be the reunited Rage Against The MAChine's first hometown concert in a decade.
