British rockers Radiohead are giving fans a taste of their favourite tunes this Christmas (03), by taking over a radio station for five days.

The five-some will be on BBC digital radio station 6 MUSIC, co-presenting shows and choosing music, including some from the BBC's legendary archive.

Live archive sessions from bands including Sonic Youth, The Pixies, APHEX TWIN and My Bloody Valentine will feature - the band have raided BBC archive for rare recordings and scrutinised nearly 1200 pages of data with over 7000 artists to make their selections.

They began their tenure today (22DEC03), with frontman Thom Yorke playing classic Joe Strummer material as well as songs by SYD BARRETT, Bob Marley and experimental rockers CAN.

The week will also feature a half-hourly programme, the Radiohead Story, each evening from 9pm.
