Rachel Weisz is set to play the evil witch in 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'.

The 'Constant Gardner' actress has entered negotiations to star alongside James Franco as the titular wizard and Mila Kunis as her sister Theadora.

Rachel would play Evanora, a powerful witch who intends to rule the land and attempts to get her sister on side to help her.

Sam Raimi is directing the project, which is being seen as Disney's take on a prequel to the classic 'Wizard Of Oz' story about a girl from Kansas who is swept away to the magical Land of Oz

Rachel - who last year announced her split from 'Black Swan' director Darren Aronofsky - was last seen in 'The Lovely Bones' but has a number of projects coming up.

In addition to 'The Deep Blue Sea', which is released this year, Rachel is also working on Fernando Meirelles' '360' alongside Jude Law, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Ben Foster.
