Actress Rachel Nichols is helping to bring a little holiday cheer to sick kids in New York City by hosting a special screening of Arthur Christmas on Thursday (01Dec11).
The Star Trek beauty will stop by The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan with a screener copy of the new release so kids who are too ill to catch the production in theatres can see it.
Speaking about the project on Wednesday (30Nov11), she tells WENN, "I have a pre-New Years resolution, which is actually to spend more time working with events, like charities and foundations. I work very closely with the Lollipop Theater Network. We bring movies that are still in theatres to kids in hospitals, and I'm doing a hospital visit tomorrow at Mount Sinai.
"Lollipop always sets up an event for me to do with the kids, and we take pictures and I sign autographs and I sign T-shirts. I want to do more of that in the New Year because I don't think there's enough of it. And I spend my fair share of watching TV specials and having my heart broken (by the sad stories). I've been saying for a long time I want to give back, and next year I really am... I love working with kids."
