Queens Of The Stone Age fans were treated to a surprise guest at the band's Milan, Italy, gig on Monday night (14FEB05) - former singer collaborator MARK LANEGAN took the stage.

Ex-Screaming Trees frontman Lanegan officially left QOTSA a year ago (FEB04) to concentrate on the promotion of his sixth solo album, BUBBLEGUM.

But, on the first date of QOTSA's brief European tour at the city's Transilvania Club, Lanegan sang eight songs with the hard-rocking band.

It is currently unclear if gravelly-voiced Lanegan will play with the JOSH HOMME-fronted group throughout the road trip.

The new QOTSA album, LULLABIES TO PARALYSE, is released next month (MAR05).
