Queen Latifah credits hiking with helping her maintain her newly-slim figure.

The 'Chicago' actress' reign as a spokeswoman for weight-loss plan Jenny Craig is coming to an end but she has now got her eating under control and now knows the importance of a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Latifah - who has shed 25lbs since starting the program over two years ago and has kept it off - said: "The program kept me focused and reminded me how to eat. I eat a lot of fresh vegetables and a lot of fish and lean meat.

"I like yoga although I haven't mastered it yet, but I'm working on it. I also hike but I'm not one of those people who's going to talk all the way up the hill! I'm going to breathe and block out all the things I don't need to be thinking about."

Although her diet now includes dishes such as goat's cheese with beetroot and raspberry vinaigrette, Latifah is happy to indulge in the occasional treat.

She said: "I demand my mac and cheese. I'm happy with where my body is."

Speaking of Latifah's appointment in December 2007, Scott Parker, Jenny Craig's Vice President of Marketing, said: "We officially confirm that Queen Latifah will join the Jenny Craig program in January. We are thrilled to have Queen Latifah support our mission of improving health by taking her first step toward achieving a more healthful lifestyle."
