A permanent memorial to late British royal QUEEN ELIZABETH, THE QUEEN MOTHER will be erected in London next year (07).

The mother of current monarch Queen Elizabeth II died in March 2002 at the age of 101.

The Queen Mother's grandson Prince Charles and a panel will judge designs from architects, artists and designers from across the world.

Entries are to be submitted by the end of January (06), with the memorial unveiling planned for summer 2007. The memorial will be placed just off The Mall, near the statue of the Queen Mother's late husband KING GEORGE VI.
