The three members of music collective Pussy Riot were jailed for two years each in 2012 for staging an anti-Vladimir Putin protest at a Moscow church.

Samutsevich was freed in October, 2012 when her sentence was commuted, and her two bandmates were released in December the following year (13) after serving 18 months each.

Samutsevich appealed against the convictions and demanded a review of the sentences handed out, but officials at Russia's Supreme Court have now refused to allow the hearing to go ahead and have dismissed the case.
