RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman: The world lost a true talent when actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his apartment last Sunday after a suspected heroin overdose, aged 46. Thougha autopsy results were ruled inconclusive, drugs paraphernalia was found littered all over his house after the Oscar-winning actor suffered a relapse to substance abuse despite having been clean for more than 20 years.

The father-of-three's break-up with his partner Mimi O'Donnell is said to have caused the Capote star to turn to drugs and not the confusion over his sexuality, as was falsely alleged by the National Enquirer. Since the death, four suspected drug dealers have been arrested and are being questioned with regards to selling Hoffman, who was found with a syringe in his arm, a bad batch. Sadly, we have lost one of the only actors working today whose acting prowess meant we'd instinctively trust any film with his name. Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014).

Members of the Russian punk activist group Pussy Riot have disowned their two most high-profile members, Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, for having forgotten about the "aspirations and ideals of [the] group." Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova, known as Masha and Nadia, were released from a 16-month prison stint in Russia after having performed their anti-Putin protest song, 'Punk Prayer,' in a Moscow cathedral in 2012.

Masha & Nadya Have Been Disowned By Members Of Pussy Riot.

Heavy media interest and intense human rights lobbying played a part in the women's release and has brought certain Russian freedom of speech injustices to light. On the eve of the Winter Olympic Games, currently being held in the Russian city of Sochi, the pair performed alongside Madonna at Amnesty International's Bringing Human Rights Home concert at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn last night, where the Flaming Lips, Yoko Ono, Bob Geldof, Lauryn Hill, The Fray Blondie and Imagine Dragons also contributed.

We reckon 1D fans or Justin Bieber fans are rabid because they're mainly hormonal young girls but Bruce Springsteen appeals to a rather different demographic who have been mirroring the obsessive antics of the tweensters. 'The Boss' will perform tonight (23 July) to 29,000 fans at a sold out show, with some making absolutely sure they didn't miss out on a front row position in the standing area of the arena.

BBC News spoke to Warrington fan Tony Tower who admitted he'd been camped outside Millenium Stadium for five days. Mr. Tower explained his need to be at the very front: "It's all about getting under the mic - it's better to be in the pit than out of it. It's the heart of the concert." He also admitted that he'd spent more than £1,300 on tickets to see his idol and that was all OK with his wife, saying "It's not about the cost - it's about the experience. My wife tells me I can afford it." Spoken like a true fan!
