Puddle Of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin was helped out by a concerned fan after he was left stranded following his release from jail this week (beg03Sep12).
The singer was removed from a flight bound for Los Angeles during an emergency stop in Austin, Texas on Tuesday (04Sep12) and subsequently arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.
Scantlin was later released on bail, but he was left thousands of miles from home with nowhere to stay and his cell phone had run out of battery.
However, he was spotted outside the Austin jail by Puddle of Mudd fan Carl Flant, who offered the rocker assistance, according to Tmz.com.
Flant let Scantlin use his phone to call his assistant in L.A. and helped the singer book into a hotel, while they later had dinner together and took a tour of the city.
Flant tells the website, "He wasn't sure where to go and his phone was dead. I got laid off back in May... so I know what it's like to have a bad day and need a little assistance."
Scantlin is due to return to Austin for an arraignment hearing on 3 October (12). The rocker has denied causing trouble on the flight and insists he was "completely sober" at the time of his arrest.
