PSY has thanked Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong for his recent comment comparing the singer to herpes and chooses to think of it as a compliment.
The Green Day frontman recently hit out at the 'Gangnam Style' hitmaker by likening him to the sexually transmitted infection, but he has taken in in stride, insisting he considers it a compliment.
Billie posted a picture of PSY on his Instagram account, captioning it: ''This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it's gone, it comes back. #herpes #flareup #pleasegoaway''
The comments were presented to PSY on US TV network Fuse and although he was not initially aware what herpes were, after having the infection explained to him by host Elaine Moran, the South Korean decided the comparison was ''cool''.
He said: ''I should say something to him. Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day is saying I'm like herpes - keeps coming back. I think it's really cool and I appreciate that. Thank you.''
Although the Green Day rocker may not be a fan, the 35-year-old star can count Madonna - who he joined on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City for an impromptu performance of 'Gangnam Style' last year - and Liam Gallagher among his celebrity fans.
