British rapper Professor Green felt compelled to open up about his recent cancer scare in a bid to encourage men to undergo regular health checks.
Last month (Mar11), the hip-hop star, real name Stephen Manderson, was rushed to a hospital for emergency testing after suffering "swelling and pain" in his groin.
The I Need You Tonight hitmaker was given the all-clear and told fans of his scare on Twitter.com.
And Manderson admits it was difficult to put his health worries in the public domain, but insists he felt the need to urge his followers to go for a scan.
He tells Britain's Sunday Mirror, "I didn't really want to put my business out there like that and it was hard for me. A lot of men just avoid going to the doctors and I think it's important for people to take care of themselves."
