Princess Madeleine of Sweden is engaged to her American boyfriend Chris O'Neill, according to national tabloid newspaper Expressen. Madeleine, 30, is the youngest of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia's three children and is fourth in line to the throne.

Expressen's website claims Madeleine accepted Christopher's proposal in New York about a month ago, after he had asked the King for his daughter's hand in marriage. Officials at the royal palace are yet to comment on the news, though a spokesperson told the Associated Press that "information will be available" on the palace website later on Thursday. Madeline lives in New York, where she works for the World Childhood Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by her mother. She was previously engaged to the lawyer Jonas Bergstrom and was set to marry in 2010 though the wedding was postponed due to a media whirlwind concerning rumors that Bergstrom had cheated.

Madeleine met Chris after moving to New York following the breakdown of her engagement. The 37-year-old millionaire is a financial advisor, mainly dealing with the rich and famous.
