Reclusive rocker Prince is revoking his vow never to release a record via a major label again - after his last self-released album NEWS flopped.

The Purple Rain hitmaker has started work on his new long player in California and is already scouting around the major labels for an interested buyer.

In the past, Prince had a bitter dispute with WARNER MUSIC thanks to contract issues and performed a concert with the word "slave" written across his cheek.

But insiders tell American website PAGE SIX, Prince is considering signing with either Clive Davis's label J RECORDS or BMG.
