Pop superstar Prince played his first ever U.K. music festival on Sunday night (03Jul11), marking his return to the British stage for the first time in four years.
The Purple Rain hitmaker headlined the Hop Farm festival in Kent, south-east England, alongside the Eagles and Morrissey.
Prince's set got off to a slow start as technicians worked to correct sound issues which had affected earlier acts, while a five-minute funk medley played.
When he finally launched into the two-hour set, the star played a number of hits, including 1999, Kiss and U Got The Look, and even performed through thunder during his rendition of Let's Go Crazy.
Prince surprised fans by inviting his pal, Sly & The Family Stone's Larry Graham, on stage to perform several songs and closed the set with three encores, before telling the crowd, "I wish there wasn't no such thing as a curfew. Parties are supposed to go on 'til everyone's asleep."
