Prince William emerged triumphant as he led a team of Canadian sportsmen to victory in a dragon boat race against his new wife Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge and her crew of athletes on Monday (04Jul11).
The sporty royal couple, which is visiting North America on its first official state visit, went head-to-head at Prince Edward Island's Dalvay Lake, each acting as team leader for two groups of locals.
It was the Prince who claimed victory with his crew, as his boat sailed past the finish line first - and he consoled his wife with a hug after she came in second.
Earlier in the day, William, a search and rescue pilot for the U.K.'s Royal Air Force, wowed onlookers as he demonstrated his skills as a helicopter pilot, successfully pulling off the 'waterbirding' technique and landing an aircraft on the water twice, much to the admiration of his wife, who looked on with pride.
