LATEST: British royal Prince Harry has passed the tough selection exams to enter military academy Sandhurst.

The Prince received the good news on Friday (24SEP04) after undergoing a gruelling series of interviews, written tests and assault course tasks.

He says, "The last four days have been very challenging, both mentally and physically, but it's also been an enjoyable experience.

"I have set my sights on joining the Army and I am really looking forward to going to Sandhurst."

Prince Charles' youngest son will be the most senior modern royal to train as an Army officer, and will begin the 44-week course at the Royal Military Academy early next year (05).
