Prince Charles' fiancee Camilla Parker Bowles has no intention of becoming the British Queen when her husband-to-be ascends to the throne.

Bowles yesterday (22MAR05) issued a statement confirming she will go under the title of Princess Consort, after the UK government admitted it is the automatic right of the King's wife to become Queen following weeks of confusion over divorced Bowles' future status.

Charles' communications director PADDY HARVESON says, "Mrs Parker Bowles' wishes have been made clear from the start that she does not wish to take the title of Queen and the Prince is in full agreement.

"Legislation would only be required (to change British law) if it was deemed necessary to confirm formally she should not have the title of Queen."
