LOVE AND MONEY bass player BOBBY PATERSON died following a brief illness on Sunday morning (23JUL06). He was 49. Paterson, was a founder member of the 1980s Scottish band alongside singer JAMES GRANT, passed away suddenly at Glasgow's Stobhill hospital in Scotland. The group's biggest UK chart hit came 1986 with CANDYBAR EXPRESS. Paterson also produced songs for Primal Scream including their hit VELOCITY GIRL. The Scottish musician was nicknamed 'The Lord Provost' by close friends because he was so well known is his home town of Glasgow, where he also helped run a string of nightclubs. Music star BOBBY BLUEBELL says of his late friend, "He was the most beautiful person I'd ever met in my whole life." Paterson is survived by his mother MARGARET and sister GILLIAN HAMILTON.
