Pride And Prejudice director JOE WRIGHT was so nervous watching his girlfriend Rosamund Pike perform on London's West End stage last night (18OCT06) he almost vomitted. Pike, who fell in love with the movie-maker on the set of the JANE AUSTEN period drama last year (05), was starring in Tennessee Williams play SUMMER AND SMOKE. It's the second time the actress has performed in the West End - she previously appeared naked in HITCHCOCK BLONDE - but Pike's expertise didn't stop Wright being riddled with nerves. He says, "I never saw her in Hitchcock Blonde, so tonight was the first time I saw her on stage. "I was so nervous for her I felt physically sick whereas she was so calm. I am amazed she can put herself on stage like that."
