Victoria Warehouse Team Announces 2014 Series Of Shows With The Likes Of Hardwell And Damon Albarn

The owners of Manchester's Victoria Warehouse have announced the first in a series of big name music events planned for 2014. Plans are underway to transform the Victoria Warehouse site into a diverse and cutting edge urban space for all entertainment genres including dancemusic, live music and more. HARDWELL, THE BBC 6 RADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL, LAIDBACK LUKE, EDDIE HALLIWELL, BENNY BENASSI and AOKI are just some of first names to be announced for the venue.

The first show to be announced by Composit and Cream is Hardwell's  'I am Hardwell' show. 'The artist who topped DJ Magazine's prestigious global top 100 poll in November will play his first set of UK dates at the Victoria Warehouse on the 31st January and the 1st February 2014. The shows sold-out within minutes of going on sale.

Dutch Superstar Hardwell's "I AM HARDWELL" show is a major coup and is already being billed as the must see show of 2014. Composit Music & Cream will produce the show alongside ALDA Events who have been responsible for the development and concept of the show with Hardwell. Utilising previous experience, Composit Music & Cream will create trail-blazing production for the show. Composit, Cream and ALDA will deliver the ultimate audio-visual experience. The 'I Am Hardwell' concept will come to life with holographic visuals, pyrotechnics, state-of-the-art computer wizardry and spectacular and original audio-visual elements.

Composit & Cream have also announced an event at the Victoria Warehouse on the 8th March featuring six dance music titans. The incredible line up includes Holland's dance music innovator and Super You & Me hero Laidback Luke, Fire It Up Head Honcho and Mixmag's "Greatest DJ Of All Time" Eddie Halliwell, epic Manchester producer D.O.D who's already topping the dance charts with club banger 'Stomp', North West promoter turned visor-wearing superstar DJ Kryder, 'Satisfaction' star and  Italian DJ/producer stalwart Benny Benassi and Dutch  powerhouse and 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' legend Fedde le Grand.

Also confirmed is Grammy nominated Electro/House DJ & Producer Steve Aoki who hits the Victoria Warehouse on the 5th April. As one of America's biggest touring artists, the man behind DIM MAK Records has been credited with launching the careers of some of the most influential acts of the last decade including Bloc Party, The Kills, Klaxons and MSTRKRFT.  His own success through remix and production has seen him work with the likes of Tiësto, Laidback Luke, Kanye West and Lenny Kravitz to name a few and has catapulted him into one of the world's most in-demand artists.

Steve's acrobatic crowd surfing stunts, cake throwing and general dancefloor debauchery has made him renowned as one of the most energetic and entertaining dance artists on the circuit and we can no doubt expect the same fun and frolics and huge stage production at his forthcoming UK dates in April creating what is set to be one of this year's unmissable shows.

But it's not just about dance music. BBC Radio 6 Music has announced the first ever BBC Radio 6 Music Festival and an incredible line up of artists who will be performing at the venue. With more than 30 artists and DJs across three stages, the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival brings together a stellar line up of bands and artists who share the alternative spirit of the network.

Artists performing across two stages on FRIDAY night are Damon Albarn - with a live debut of music from his new album in what will be his first UK live solo performance in 2014 - and Midlake, Kelis, Haim, Luke Sital Singh, Horrors, Metronomy, Jimi G, Drenge, and Outfit.

Artists performing across two stages on SATURDAY night are The National - returning to the UK in the middle of their world tour to play at the Festival - and Franz Ferdinand, Jake Bugg - also flying in from the US for the event, plus Bombay Bicycle Club, The Staves, James Blake, Wild Beasts, Lykke Li, Jagwar Ma, Nick Mulvey, and Kiran Leonard.  And 6 Music's Funk and Soul Show presenter Craig Charles will play a storming set on stage at the end of the night.

A silent disco will feature sets from Groove Armada, The Charlatans' Tim Burgess, X-Press 2 and 6 Music presenter Mary Anne Hobbs on Friday night. And on Saturday night, New Order's Peter Hook, and 6 Music spin-meisters Gilles Peterson, Nemone and Don Letts will be taking their turn on the decks.

A Spokesperson for the venue commented: "After a successful two years of hosting the Warehouse Project and events such as the Stone Roses Premier, the Victoria Warehouse is excited to be working with music producer's Composit Music, Cream & Radio 6 on a series of cutting edge music events.

They added: "It's long been claimed that Manchester is crying out for a venue that was both intimate and expansive. The city has a series of great venues offering great sound and atmosphere, but none that can be adapted to meet the needs of each and every event. It's the flexibility and credibility of the space that will allow the Victoria Warehouse to attract some of the biggest events and artists in the world."

This year, the Warehouse space will be developed in order to create an all -encompassing entertainment experience with a new 750 capacity mezzanine level overlooking the main room along with booths available on all shows .The team want to offer a scaled service rather than the flat single ticket offering and their will be a strong focus on offering the ultimate customer experience.
