Thom Yorke's Atoms For Peace Partner With New Live Music Platform

Some of the biggest names in music come together for a groundbreaking collaboration which is set to change how fans will experience live music forever.

Between them, Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker and Brazilian percussionistMauro Refosco have successfully been breaking down music genres for more than 20 years. Next week they will grace the stage as Atoms For Peace at London's Roundhouse for three sold out nights.

As well as facing the mighty challenge of transforming electronic music into a live show, Atoms For Peace will also be writing a new chapter in live music history.

While the all-star ensemble's performance will be seen by thousands at the venue, millions more will be able to experience it through a pioneering collaboration between the band and live music platform soundhalo.

Thom Yorke and the band are enabling fans around the world to watch and download the gig, track by track as it happens, through soundhalo, a new platform bringing high quality video and audio footage of live performances straight to your smartphone and desktop. The Atoms For Peace shows on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th July will be available to purchase, bringing the heart-pounding adrenaline and technical command of their performance to a global audience within seconds of each song's final note.

Building on the recent success of English indie rock outfit Alt-J's blockbuster performance at London's O2 Academy Brixton, this is set to be the largest soundhalo transmission to date, using some of the world's best studio engineers to maintain the true quality and authentic sound of live performance.

Working closely with the band, the team at soundhalo have created a process of capturing the gig which aims to deliver the feeling of actually being there.

Speaking about the collaboration, Nigel Godrich said: "Part of the reason soundhalo was interesting to me was that I found myself wondering why, whenever you go to a gig, the next day there are a million shaky, horrible sounding YouTube videos already online. But you go and look because you want to see something of your experience. Soundhalo provides something really functional - an experience that you want to remember in front of you as soon as the concert has happened. To be able to relive that is a really great thing."

Soundhalo is devised by people who love experiencing live music right from the heart of the crowd. This means they avoid the overproduced experience of a live DVD production; instead celebrating the serendipity of live shows and the rush we all feel seeing great bands in the flesh. The quality of the soundhalo video and audio is of the highest calibre; achieved by recording straight from the stage and delivering it back to the fans as the band want you to hear it, as it happens.
