The Black Keys Win Brit Award For Best International Group 2013

Last night The Black Keys won the 2013 BRIT Award for Best International Group.  The win follows their three GRAMMY Awards - Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album - earlier this month and culminates a highly successful series of years for the band, whose critically acclaimed Nonesuch album, El Camino, was recently certified Platinum in the US and also in the UK.  Internationally, the record is also Gold in Belgium, Holland and Spain; Platinum in France and Ireland; and double Platinum in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.  In 2010, the duo won three Grammy Awards for their breakout album, Brothers.  In addition to the BRIT and GRAMMY awards, this year they have also been nominated for an NME Award for Best International Band.

The Black Keys will continue to tour throughout 2013, including headlining appearances at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 30 and at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 5.  Touring highlights over the past year include sold-out shows at Chicago's United Center and Washington DC's Verizon Center; two nights at New York's Madison Square Garden; and headlining appearances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, ACL Festival and The Global Poverty Project's Global Festival.  They have also toured extensively overseas this year, including two sold out shows at the O2 Arena in London.  Additionally, on December 15, the duo joined The Rolling Stones on stage for their final '50 and Counting' concert.  The special 'One More Shot' event was telecast live via pay-per-view and streamed online.

MTV called a recent live performance 'A set of searing, hard-riffing rock, one that had the 60,000 who packed Central Park's Great Lawn losing their collective minds,' while Rolling Stone calls this year's series of shows 'Their biggest, baddest tour ever.'

Released in December 2011 on Nonesuch Records, El Camino was produced by Danger Mouse and The Black Keys and was recorded in the band's new hometown of Nashville during the spring of 2011.  In the UK the record gave the band their first top 10 hit, and in the US it debuted at # 2 on the Billboard Top 200.  The band is also the # 1 most played artist at Alternative and AAA radio formats for 2012 in the US.  The album's first single, 'Lonely Boy', reached # 1 on the Alternative and AAA charts; it also entered the top 10 at Rock radio.  The second single, 'Gold on the Ceiling', also reached # 1 on Alternative radio and the third single, 'Little Black Submarines', is currently top 3 at Alternative radio.  In addition to El Camino's success, Brothers was recently certified RIAA Platinum in the US and Gold in the UK,
