T in the Park's 20th year celebrations are already shaping up to be an unmissable, star-studded affair, and festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent's Lager are incredibly excited to welcome The Doggfather of hip-hop Snoop Dogg back to Scotland this summer for what's sure to be a showstopping set at the festival.
The undisputed king of rap is the latest star to sign up to the T in the Park bill, which also features Main Stage headliners Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers, plus electronic pioneers Kraftwerk and Stereophonics, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Emeli Sandé, Foals, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, Jake Bugg, Tom Odell, Haim, Palma Violets and many more
Introduced to the world through Dr. Dre's album The Chronic, Snoop was propelled to stardom after his first album Doggystyle debuted at number 1 in the US and sold almost a million copies in its first week of release in 1993. Over the past two decades, he's remained firmly at the forefront of popular culture though his legendary street raps and collaborations with a huge array of acts. As well as being one of the world's biggest hip-hop artists, he's a respected TV and movie actor, the founder and coach of a hugely successful youth football league and now star of his own video game.
With anticipation building ahead of the release of his 12th studio album, Reincarnated, his first under new moniker Snoop Lion, the Bigg Boss Dogg is back and sure to be a hip hop highlight of T in the Park.
Geoff Ellis, Festival Director, said: "Snoop Dogg is a true legend and one of the most influential rap stars of all time. His first and only T in the Park performance so far back in 2005 was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our 20 year history, and we're hugely excited to bring him back to Scotland for our 20th edition. Snoop is a phenomenal live act, and I can't wait to see what he's got in store for us this year."
George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Tennent's Lager, said: "T in the Park continues to attract some of the greatest artists in the world, and Snoop Dogg is no exception. The 20th year is shaping up to be a wonderful weekend, and we can't wait to celebrate 20 years of putting the T in T in the Park with the greatest audience in the world this July."
