Secret Cinema Smashes Box Office With Production Of Ridley Scott's Prometheus Secret Cinema, Created By Future Cinema, Takes 25,000 'Employees Into Space' Making It The Highest Grossing Screen For The Film In The Uk - For A Secret Film, In A Secret Location Radiohead Contribute To Experiential Score

Future Cinema, creators of Secret Cinema, smashed box office records in the UK grossing more in ticket sales for Prometheus than any other cinema screening.

The four-week run of the Secret Cinema screenings, which ended last night (Sunday 1st July), smashed ticket sales for a single venue for Prometheus, grossing £720,000 ($1.1 million) across 38 shows in 28 days, beating the performance at London's BFI Imax (the biggest-earning cinema screen in the U.K.), where the film has grossed $1.02 million so far.

In Secret Cinema's most groundbreaking production to date, a Central London warehouse was converted into a futuristic spaceship for a month to bring to life in a new format - Live Cinema. The production of Prometheus launched in tandem with the movie's national theatrical release for the first time anywhere in the world, with full endorsement from director Ridley Scott.

Fabien Riggall, Creative Director and Founder Secret Cinema said: "Secret Cinema creates worlds that allow the audience to go deeper inside the film. Audiences are looking to feel more connected and be part of an experience. Ridley Scott's Prometheus inspired us to push the idea even further. We believe this is part of the future of cinema."

Live Cinema, the format defined by Future Cinema - creators of Secret Cinema - allows the cinema goer to step inside the film and creates a unique experience and journey, far beyond a traditional 2D or 3D viewing experience. The line between actor and audience member is blurred.

Secret Cinema were esteemed to have collaborated with Radiohead on creating a soundscape to score the parts of the experience using the track "Everything In Its Right Place" from Kid A in multiple dark spaces around the ship.

Since its inception in 2007, more than 150,000 have attended Secret Cinema productions, and plans are now underway to take its pioneering concept to New York, launching in Autumn 2012.

The smash hit Prometheus production totaled 38 shows across 28 days in 3 specially constructed 3D cinemas. Secret Cinema was very honored to partner with Framestore on all digital creation and visual effects for this experience.

Secret Cinema, which has re-defined the cinematic experience since 2007, has seen over 25,000 Brave New Venture (BNV) Employees descend upon London's Euston station throughout June, dressed in protective boiler suits and armed with surgical masks, gloves, crystals and various religious artifacts.

Recruits were asked to register for various professions in advance with a mysterious company called Brave New Ventures (www.bravenewventures.org). Identities registered ranged from matter analysts to control operators and all were transported into the world of Prometheus with original props from the film including rover trucks, parts of the flight deck and the cockpit. Secret Restaurant returned with the 'Future Paradise Dining Experience' creating bespoke nightly dining experiences featuring chefs from St. John, Noma and Jardinire.
