Seahaven and Run For Cover Records are excited to announce the March 25th release date for the Torrance, CA based band's sophomore full-length album, Reverie Lagoon: Music For Escapism Only. The album was engineered and mixed by Ben Brodin (Bight Eyes, Pete Yorn), and produced by Seahaven's Kyle Soto at Mike Mogis' ARC recording studio in Omaha, NE. Fans of the band were treated to a preview of the new album last month when they unveiled a stream of the lead single "Silhouette (Latin Skin)", which will be released as a three song 7" on Run For Cover Records on January 21st. "Though Seahaven only has a couple releases under its belt," writes The Onion A/V Club, "the young band displays a maturity that's often missing from the bands with which it surrounds itself."
Seahaven begin a month long tour with Touch' Amor' and mewithoutYou in February. The band are excited to bring their new material to fans live in advance of the album's release later in March.
Reverie Lagoon: Music For Escapism Only captures the dreamy, sprawling, airy southern California mood embodied by the band's surroundings. The subtle combination of an upper midwestern indie rock aesthetic with so-cal punk and post-punk heritage is brought to life by the uplifting natural production and orchestral instrumentation found on the album. Warm, beach-y reverb blankets equally contemplative and carefree sounding pop that ebbs and flows with rising strings and deft percussion, making for Seahaven's most interesting and engaging songs yet.
