Exeter 4 piece RAT ATTACK are riding a party-punk wave to the summit of the UK rock scene since self releasing their 5 track debut EP in 2013 to critical acclaim from the likes of Metal Hammer, The Guardian, Kerrang!, Front and Rock Sound. They will be releasing the new single 'Look Back And Laugh' as a free download from their Facebook page on September 9th, and it will be the final release from their debut, self titled EP. Brand new material will be ready and unleashed early 2014. Watch this space.
The bands debut EP is up online now and available to all at a 'pay what you want' price, and it features the bands single 'Heartbeat', with guest vocals from Liam Cromby from We Are The Ocean. Tracks from the EP have already featured heavily and regularly on BBC Radio 1 with massively repeated plays from Zane Lowe, Phil & Alice, Dan P Carter and Mike Davies. Kerrang! Radio's Matt Stock's and XFM's Ian Camfield are also big fans and the latter so much so he requested a live session last month and has played every single released by Rat Attack on his show.
Taking their influences from the likes of Refused, The Bronx, The Hives, Murder City Devils, and The Beastie Boys, the self titled debut EP is filled with everyday rock and roll tales, songs of overly keen lovers ('Bird In Hand'), losing friends to social media ('Facehooked'), a tongue in cheek of view of sex and relationships ('Look Back and Laugh', 'Bad Catholic'), and most importantly, songs about living life to the fullest whilst you are still young ('Heartbeat').
Live wise, following on from Download, the band will be appearing at Reading and Leeds, Y-not, Board-masters, 2000 Trees and Burnout. The band have also JUST completed a very successful UK headline tour over Easter in which they cemented their reputation for their wild crazy live shows and the ability to turn a static room into a party the Beastie Boys would be proud of! They have already toured Europe 4 times, and played UK shows supporting the likes of Lower Than Atlantis, Rancid, The Ghost of a Thousand, DZ Deathrays, The Computers, Deaf Havana and Cerebral Ballzy. Catch the band at 2013 Download Festival!!!
