New French sensation PORTLAND will release their debut single 'Deezy Daisy' via Kitsune this September.
The trio's unique brand of alternative pop has garnered them accoaldes and kudos from fans and peers alike. Hailing from Metz, France, Martin Murer (synths and prodcution) and Thibault Richard (drums) roped in the vocal talent of American songstress, Lily Pejon who incidentally comes from Portland, Oregon to put the finishing touches to their musical project and PORTLAND was born.
PORTLAND made positive noises when they posted their track 'You Don't Know Me' on the internet and racked up over a million views to date. Picked up by Kitsune, the band performed live at the infamous 'Kitsune Maison en Vrai' series of live shows alongside Guards and Techniques.
Wearing their mainstream influences proudly with cheeky nods to Madonna ('Like A Virgin') and Prince ('Cream'), it looks like 2013 is shaping up to be a big year for the band.
'Deezy Daisy' epitomses all that is fun and cool about pop and the stellar remix package comes courtesy of rising French star Oxford, new Aussie talent Convaire and hotly tipped Swedish maestro Oliver Nelson (having recently remixed Justin Timberlake's 'Suit & Tie').
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
