Pitch Festival 2013 First Acts Confirmed

Held in the heart of Amsterdam, we are delighted to announce the first confirmed artists for PITCH Festival 2013. Taking place on 5-6th July, the contemporary music festival mixes live bands, DJ sets alongside stimulating visuals into an eclectic festival experience.

2013 will be the festival's 3rd edition - the inaugural event in 2011 saw 8,500 visitors to the site and in 2012, PITCH grew in size to 15,000 - both sold out and past line ups have included the likes of The Weeknd, Die Antwoord, SBTRKT, Azari & III, Gold Panda, Jessie Ware, Maya Jane Coles, Gaslamp Killer, Modeselektor, Jackmaster and many more.

Held in the post-industrial site of Cultuurpark Westgasfabriek, this summer the festival will take place over 5 indoor venues and 1 outdoor park stage and will see around 20,000 punters across the weekend.

With a strong emphasis on bringing the most important emerging electronic talent to Amsterdam as well as the best live bands of the moment, this year, PITCH are delighted to welcome James Blake back after his storming DJ set last year for a full live show. Having recently dropped the beautiful 'Retrograde' from his anticipated sophomore album, he will undoubtedly bring the festival to a standstill this summer.

Joining him will be the Mercury Music Prize shortlisted Django Django whose gloriously unpredictable debut album received plaudits from the across the board - they are also well known from their vibrant live shows. Everyone's favourite love-to-hate rapper Azealia Banks will be bringing her quick-tongued, infectious beats to Amsterdam. The celebrated leftfield electronica artist Bonobo will be playing alongside Mykki Blanco - whose exciting and complex rap has been wowing audiences across the world. Danish producer Trentmøller will also be joining the party at PITCH.

Representing the UK, will be the BBC Sound Poll shortlisted AlunaGeorge, producer Baauer who just debuted at Number 1 in the US with 'Harlem Shake' and Warp artist Jamie Lidell who recently released his fifth album of percussive and soulful electronica.

JETS represent two of electronic music's most heralded solo commodities:  Jimmy Edgar and Travis Stewart, their collaborative project was unveiled at the end of last year and will be hitting Amsterdam for PITCH. Joining them, will be Denmark's MØ who has been setting the blogs on fire with her electro-pop.

Other additions to the festival include Irish production duo Bicep, Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat and Jon Hopkins - the London based artist who collaborated with King Creosote and earned themselves a Mercury Music Prize nomination.

PITCH Festival 2013 will be hosting Holland exclusive performances from Django Django, Azealia Banks, JETS and Jon Hopkins.

The Cultuurpark Westgasfabriek is a redeveloped factory site situated in Amsterdam West, walking distance from the central station. The beautiful and industrial 14-hectare city park that surrounds Westgasfabriek provides an urban oasis in the centre of Amsterdam. Using the monumental buildings as venues and combining it with an outdoor park stage makes the perfect, unique home for PITCH Festival.
