Night Works Announce Debut Lp 'Urban Heat Island' Released March 4th 2013

Welcome to the thrilling, nocturnal world of Night Works. Formerly of Metronomy and Your Twenties, "Urban Heat Island" sees Stebbing plunging down very different streets on the pop landscape indeed, taking in glacial synths, off-kilter R&B, offbeat disco and more as he weaves tales borne out of "finding yourself in a foreign city, and meeting characters who are desperate to tell you stories - people who have played high stakes and gambled it all away". The end result is richly evocative and cinematic in the way it knits together interconnected stories to form a deeply resonant portrait of doomed pleasure seekers standing on the precipice of their own self-annihilation.

"Long Forgotten Boy", the new single (also out March 4th), and the first song written as part of the Night Works project - is a sparse pop song with cold synth interludes, perfect for capturing that 4am feeling, "the end of those nights out at Fabric" (made even more appropriate with its accompanying Erol Alkan remix). It all makes for an unusually compelling listen - unsurprising, considering that "Urban Heat Island" is a record that Stebbing says has "lots of secrets and lots of clues...I want people to enjoy it enough to want to find out more".

Night Works now unveils the final instalment in the video series directed by Daniel Brereton with 'Long Forgotten Boy', in which we walk from 'The Eveningtime' party in Bethnal Green via Beckton Alp and Paris to a reconciliation with Long Forgotten Boy himself by the sunken barges at Dagenham Docks. Featuring a cast of thousands including Israeli pop icon Emily Karpel and Sidney Kafri, star of I Tried So Hard.
Following a packed out Sebright Arms show on Halloween and a Shepherd's Bush Alt-J support slot last month, we're also hugely excited to announce live dates in March which should prove absolutely unmissable.

UK LIVE DATES
7th March: Electrowerkz -
8th March: Rough Trade Instore
28th March: Fred Perry at Garage, supporting King Krule
