MTV UK & Ireland in association with Emporio Armani Diamonds today announce British pop rock band, The Vamps, as the official winners of MTV Brand New for 2014. Following a month-long  public voting process and three critically acclaimed music showcases, people voted in their tens of thousands for The Vamps, beating-off fierce competition from the other nine nominees; Sam Smith, Ella Eyre, Joel Compass, Royal Blood, Banks, Elyar Fox, George Ezra, Kwabs and Marie Naffah.

Since voting opened on December 16th, the MTV Brand New for 2014 site has been inundated with hundreds of thousands of unique votes for the ten nominated artists. The Vamps are without a doubt the new band on everyone's lips. Their first single Can We Dance stormed the charts on release and debuted on the UK Official Singles Chart at #2, and the video has received almost 10million views on YouTube. Most recent single, Wild Heart, is quickly following suit with over 3 million views already, and entered the Official Singles Chart at #3. The quartet are the opening act with Taylor Swift, supporting on her five-night 02 Arena residency. They have also been announced as special guests to The Wanted on their forthcoming tour, and will play with McBusted and Backstreet Boys at the BST Festival in July. Their debut album follows later in the year, and undoubtedly these boys are set for massive success in 2014.

Tristan of The Vamps says: "We're very lucky and we feel very humbled and honoured to win such an awesome competition we've been growing up with."

Bradley of The Vamps says: "Yeah a big thank you to all our fans who voted for us, you're all amazing - it's a bit weird winning it when we've all grown up and seen the artists who have won it so thank you very much!"

Last week MTV Brand New for 2014 hosted two exclusive live shows at Islington Assembly Halls. Highlights of the one off shows with Katy B, Ella Eyre and George Ezra, and Sam Smith, Joel Compass and Kwabs will which premiere air as part of a night of Brand New programming on MTV Music on Sunday 9th February at 9pm.
