Although Mountainear consists of three drummers, their sound is never the boisterous explosion of noise one might expect; they make a beautifully gentle but sonically rich sound, formed as it is of many layers and textures. Building with every percussive and synth-filled nuance, this all-singing, all-drumming trio create rhythmic, haunting songs indebted to the likes of Woodkid and James Blake.
In early 2014 the band released online their first ever 'teaser' track Down The Line, a hypnotic blend of percussive beats and Becky Browne's serene vocals. This was followed by the debut single Distant Camps, described as "kissed with hushed mellowing mercurial majesty" by God Is In The TV, who made the single their 'Track of the Day', while Q Magazine also endorsed the track on their 'Five Songs to Hear This Week'
Now Mountainear have announced the release of their stunning debut 4-track Distant Camps EP, which will be released on 1st September via Cocktail Music / Believe Digital.
Mountainear are Becky Browne, Louise Morgan, and Zands Duggan.
