Mo today confirms her genre-mangling new single Waste Of Time, her first release since signing to Chess Club / RCA Victor, due out 7 July. The single will be back with remixes by FTSE and Jungle. The track premieres today:
Mo (AKA Karen Marie _rsted) landed on everyone's radar when she posted the emotive, lush synthscapes of Maiden online in May 2012, followed up with a stunning turn at CMJ in New York in the autumn. This led the Danish songstress to be tipped by the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian, The Line of Best Fit and NME, and voted onto the longlist of the Blog Sound of 2013.
She dropped her beat-driven glitch-pop debut single Pilgrim via Chess Club / Neon Gold in February, and stormed SxSW in Austin, Texas the following month. Both Pilgrim and it's b-side, a remix by new labelmates MS MR, topped the Hypemachine chart upon debut. In the background, M_ has been in the studio, working on her debut album with Ronni Vindahl of Danish producer entity No Wav.
Mo plays a headline show at London's Cargo on 14 May, and will be appearing at the following festivals this summer; more shows TBA:
