Arriving in the UK for her highly anticipated debut London show, Mapei has today announced a headline appearance at London Cargo. Tickets are on sale now
Four years since breaking into the U.S. with her debut EP The Cocoa Butter Diaries, American born Swedish artist Mapei returns with a video for her new single “Don’t” Wait,” to be released June 30th via Columbia Records.
The song exhibits Mapei’s signature genre-bending and sonic versatility. Influenced as much by her flair for R&B as by her Swedish pop experience “Don’t Wait” is a musical culmination of her travels and life to this point. It was co-written and produced with pop impresario Magnus Lidehäll.
With a background in rap and R&B, Mapei’s music took shape in the club scenes of Stockholm and New York. Drawing comparisons to Santigold and Rye Rye, her debut EP received raves from Nylon, the Los Angeles Times and more. Mapei will release a new album later this year.
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
