Tiny Lights are delighted to announce the release of Soldiers, the new single by Lionhall. The single will be released on Monday August 26th 2013
Soldiers is the follow-up to Lionhall's debut EP Rhizomes, which was released on Tiny Lights in April. Rhizomes picked up airplay from the likes of XFM's John Kennedy and Amazing Radio's Jim Gellatly, and was well received by a number of blogs.
Soldiers is backed with a Razmataz Lorry Excitement remix of Behave and a BBC Introducing session version of Perfect.
Lionhall's songs have drawn comparisons to The XX, Conquering Animal Sound and Mt Wolf. Live, however, the band are a rawer, more urgent proposition than they are on record, with the Kills-like interplay between Sean Ewins and Ana Blamford a key feature. Their performance at June's Evolution Emerging was a highlight of the festival and saw them pack out Newcastle's Star and Shadow Cinema.
The band have the following gigs confirmed (More to be announced soon)
4/8/13: Bernicia Festival, Customs House, South Shields
9/8/13 O2 Academy, Newcastle (With Lulu James)
13/9/13 Think Tank, Newcastle (With Victories at Sea)
The show is up for 12 awards altogether.
