James Yuill Announces New Single 'Turn Yourself Around'

After 2010's release 'Movement in a Storm' James Yuill is back with his third album entitled 'These Spirits' for release via his own label The Happy Biscuit Club on 18th March. The first single to be taken from this new record is 'Turn Yourself Around', for release on 11th March.

Musically, 'Turn Yourself Around' is a slight change of approach for James. Here he has embraced a more extrovert style; crystal clear vocals ring out over sharp synths building to an exuberant finish. Whereas on previous albums Yuill's sound has been that of folk quietly and modestly underpinned by electronics, here, he unashamedly turns the synths up, channelling the restraint and simple melodies of Chicago house with the radio friendly mechanisms of Hot Chip and New Order.

James will be playing an intimate show at London's Sebright Arms on March 4th to celebrate the release of the single and the forthcoming album. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 25th January. For information regarding the show tickets head over to James' official website.

James is taking a creative approach to the funding of his new record, offering exclusive items, content and experiences available to purchase for those who sign up to his Pledge Music project. Pledges range from physical copies of the album along with exclusive updates right up to more elaborate items such as DJ/production lessons or even his first guitar complete with stickers and a photo of Yuill playing it his first gig aged fifteen. Yuill says he likes the idea of addressing those who genuinely care about the music, forging a deeper connection with his fans and ultimately "having a little bit of fun on the way" as is evidenced in his rather amusing instructional video on his Pledge profile.
