This is Coloured Clocks, the music project of 26 year old James Wallace.
Coloured Clocks have two releases, Zoo (2012) and Nectarine (2013). The music varies from upbeat catchy melodic pop to experimental baroque pop, to moments of ambience and then to chugging rhythmic grooves. All the while the songs are submerged in psychedelia which surround the listener.
Influences include Tame Impala, Toro Y Moi, Animal Collective, The Beatles, Bee Gees, Bon Iver, Pink Floyd, Beach Boys and so on.
Live, Coloured Clocks tour as a four piece band, wowing audiences with their catchy hooks combined with improvisational psychedelic jams. The band has been gigging since September 2012, performing at various venues around Melbourne.
Online, Coloured Clocks have gained attention from various blogs and magazines, and have been featured on radio stations in Portugal, UK, Spain and their native Australia.
Currently Coloured Clocks are working on a third release, with working title All Is Round, set for an online release in the coming months.
