Hooray For Earth Stream New Track 'Racy' [Listen]

Hooray For Earth, whose second album "Racy" is due in UK stores September 29th, is excited to make the title-track available to stream today. The anthemic "Racy" is space rock at its 2014 best, soaked in sustain, Spiritualized-influenced, universally melodic.

Earlier this summer Hooray For Earth released a video for the first single off Racy. Entitled "Keys", Pitchfork has said of the track, "Noel Heroux's delivering a deceptively forceful performance while drums boom and guitars chug, waiting for the festival masses to arrive" and Stereogum called it "a buoyant, breezy, likable track, a friendly way of welcoming the world into whatever (Hooray For Earth are) doing this time around."
"('Keys') cranks up
volume with pounding synths, searing guitars, and a soaring, bass-heavy chorus. Still, Heroux's voice sounds tender and inviting, keeping the track grounded amidst the chaotic instrumentation. One of their more accessible offerings yet, it previews a new direction for the synth-rockers. Color us excited.   Consequence of Sound

Racy is the follow up to Hooray For Earth's 2011 debut True Loves which Under The Radar called "superb" and Consequence of Sound labeled "an unbelievable collection of songs."

In the UK, the band picked up key plaudits from broadsheets and music press, as well as seeing Radio 1, significantly, A-listing their single "No Love".

Racy was co-produced by Chris Coady (Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Future Islands) and band leader Noel Heroux, while recording took place at Dreamland in Kingston, NY and at DNA Downtown in NYC.

Crafting a more fluid listening experience with Racy also meant a more active role in the studio for Noel Heroux's longtime bandmates--bassist Chris Principe, drummer Joe Ciampini, and keyboardist/vocalist Jessica Zambri. "I'm still writing, arranging and doing the preliminary recording," Heroux says. "But then it's all funneled out through our scrappy rock band."

Racy is very much a rock album. Featuring nine finely etched songs rendered to life by Coady's crystalline production, Racy represents a bold and beautiful step into the light for Hooray For Earth.
